But if you want to there are certain things you can do in order to prevent a panic attack from taking place. However, if the situation becomes such then only through medical intervention can they be treated. Below we provide a number of tips on how to stop panic attacks before they are able to take complete control over your life.

Tip 1 - One of the best ways to stop a panic attack before it takes a hold is to get your breathing right. It is important that you learn the right sorts of breathing techniques which can then help you to relax. There are a number of different techniques that you can use today and many of these you will find offered on the internet.

But the simplest of these breathing techniques is the one where you sit somewhere that allows you to relax and then you begin to breathe very slowly and very deeply. It is the slow breathing which tells your body that it is becoming relaxed and calm and so any signals being sent to the adrenal glands can be halted.

Tip 2 - This tip is going to take a little more time to master because you need to learn how to stop having negative thoughts. When a panic attack starts the first thing you need to do is say to yourself that you can and will stop the attack in a little while. By doing this you are gaining control over the situation and it helps to start relaxing your mind.

As soon as you stop having negative thoughts you now need to start replacing them with more positive ones. But you should not be thinking about lovely animals or beautiful sunshine. Instead your thoughts should be ones that further assert what you are already thinking. So you should be thinking things like what you have already done has provided the right response to the problem and then carry on with these.

Tip 3 - It is vital that as soon as you begin to feel a panic attack happening that you move away from the source immediately which has triggered the attack in the first plce. Also as soon as you begin to have these feelings you need to be able to recognize what they are and then making just very small changes. These changes can then help you to avoid a similar situation in the future or help you to deal with the panic attacks when they arise.
